For the past 10 years, the Salt Sanctuary of Maryland has proudly served people across Howard County and from around the world who seek relief from common respiratory conditions, minor skin irritations, anxiety, and stress.
"I first visited the Salt Sanctuary of Maryland through a Groupon voucher nine years ago and am honored to have bought the business in 2024. Previously, I spent 20 years leading corporate communications for global organizations while also earning my yoga teaching certification in 2020. My experience helping people around the world communicate internally and externally connects here, where our small team cultivates serenity for everyone who visits. My worldview has been shaped by traveling North America, South America, Europe, and Africa. These experiences unite in the Salt Sanctuary where breathing and healing meet.
In 2023, I was laid off from my dream job leading executive communications for a Fortune 500 company. Rather than fire off my resume for another corporate role, I decided to bet on myself. I developed a strategic plan to focus on my business, Namastone Yoga. My plan centered on partnering with brands that amplified my last name -- Stone. I started meditating one hour a day, and a few days into it, the Salt Sanctuary of Maryland came to me in meditation. Ironically, the brilliant founder from 10 years ago had been my yoga student. As a client, I found a previous appointment email with the then owner and reached out proposing a partnership to teach yoga for the community. One heartfelt conversation led to the next, and a few months later, I bought the business! I did not know to dream of this opportunity to help people heal and am eternally grateful for being placed here now, surrounded by salt stones -- my ancestry.
In addition to salt therapy, our boutique salt spa also offers signature massage therapy, salty facials, body treatments, energy healing, guided meditation, and salty yoga. Like visiting the beach, we invite you to leave feeling better than when you entered our relaxing, salty space.
